Three Books You Must Reread
Reading books are awesome. But rereading is even awesomer.
Rereading books creates this intersection of knowledge gained at one point with the new perspective we’ve developed (hopefully) overtime. This intersection provides a clear view of how much we were able to grasp and how much we still need to learn
Here’s a list of books worth rereading:
- “Awaken The Giant Within” - Tony Robbins
This is the only book I’ve actually used sticky notes to bookmark pages. Awaken The Giant Within is a masterpiece on personal development. It is a guide to advance different aspects of your life such as Behaviour, Language, Personal Relationships, and Work. Some key concepts which have stuck with me:
- Use of words dictate how you feel and react to a certain situation
- We are always on the move from pain to pleasure
- Setting better rules for ourselves and tell other people
If you have a giant within you, waiting to pop out and shine across the world. This is definitely something to return to.
- “Talking To Strangers” - Malcolm Gladwell
This book might change the way you think about and talk to strangers. Strangers, directly or indirectly, affect our lives. So we might as well understand our behaviour towards them better. That’s what this book is about. With multiple case studies from police cases to government spies. Talking to strangers brings our own biases to attention.
One particular concept that stuck with me:
- We default to truth: If a stranger tells us something, our default setting is to accept that as the truth.
Makes you think, right?

- “Breath” - James Nestor
Did you know that breathing from our mouth is extremely bad for us? As in so bad that it negatively impacts our physical and mental well being. Even I didn’t!
“Breath” is an investigation into breathing. An investigation on how we should breathe, how we can eliminate snoring, how not eating hard and chewy foods in our childhood reduces the size of our nasal cavity leading to improper development of air pathways in our noses (I’m not kidding). If you are breathing, then you should read this book. And then reread it.
Spending time on rereading these books has been rewarding for me. At phrazee.com we’re trying to build a platform where people don’t just read, but reread and actually use the information they’ve read. And the best part? It one line at a time!
